Key4Life was formed in 2012 as a direct response to the riots across England in the summer of 2011. Those riots and the high levels of re-offending by young ex-prisoners brought home to us the scale of the problem facing many of our young people today and the extent to which many of them are becoming adrift from mainstream society.
It was apparent to us that there was a need for a new innovative approach to support the rehabilitation process for young ex-offenders and help them on the path to stability.
The overall objectives of Key4Life are:
Only 7% of Key4Life participants have re-offended, compared to the national rate of 64% one-year post-release.
And our participants are four times more likely to be employed a year post-release.
