Getting started - Training & Meet the Mentor

Training

You should be reading this after receiving your Mentor Training, preparing you for your Mentor journey, and offering you tools to get the most out of the experience, both for the young man you are matched to, as well as yourself.

Not only will you see the young man develop and progress, but you will also likely experience some personal growth yourself.

The training is all online via Microsoft Teams and Zoom and comprises the following:

Session 1 – Mentor Orientation

Session 2/3/4 – Maximising the relationship

Session 6 – Safeguarding

Meet the Mentor

If you are lucky enough to take part in one of the programmes before you have your 3-Way Meeting, you will likely attend the Meet the Mentor afternoon.

This is a session we run with the young men and all the mentors where pairs are matched up, games are played, and fun is had!

It’s great if you can attend this, but don’t worry if not, we will still be able to kick off the Mentor journey beginning with the 3-Way Meeting
